I'm having an issue with my aerosol closterman 1k etch primer. It has started splattering but I can't understand why, is it likely a partially blocked nozzle?

Beyond pi**ed off with this. The loco frames are finally together after a total of more than 4 hours! Etching cusp galore to clean up and worse still, nearly all of the slots were under etched, to the point they couldn't be seen through! Very poor and not what I'd expect from this manufacturer

When your up town next go to Sally's or any cheep shop that sells sapphire nail files these are ideal for filing out slots in frames.

Whilst the tender is coming along, after about 12 hours, the loco frames are now together. A bit of weird design on the front extensions as the main frames are half etched to receive these but if you punch the rivet detail, you reverse the frames to the opposite side which means you loose the half etched guide and the extensions then sit proud of the main frames (face on). O a different note, i hadnt appreciated how long the loco will truly be! 20230531_222320.jpg

Hello - can I ask, why do you find gloss a pain to spray? Is it because of getting an even finish?
Yes basically. It's easy to get a gritty finish and also to over thin it and then it runs. I've brought some cellulose and a better air brush, so will see how that goes.

The instructions have me fitting the pickups and motor/ gearbox now. Some people say the holes for the plungers in the chassis should be loose, connoiseurs advice document says slightly undersized? I've taper reamered them and they are slightly loose at present. I could always run a bead of solder around each hole to hold them better

It's been a while, no I'm not dead. It was a busy weekend with Guildex and then I've been busy with a new adventure 3D printing with my new machine and it's been quiet successful so my own modelling is taking a bit of a back seat. Anyway, tonight I've fitted the brake shoes and rodding and come to the end of loco chassis drawing 1. Great success.
