You should be able to change the title by going back to the very first post, and via the "Edit" button you can also edit the title.
Users don't have that button. Easiest way is via report thread and give new title :)

Is it not better to start a new thread rather than burying useful info in a thread with a misleading title?

Title now changed, thanks mods.

Is it not better to start a new thread rather than burying useful info in a thread with a misleading title?

I take your point, however I tend to follow threads by people rather than titles , so I get annoyed when a poster has several threads, and therefore have opted to go for a single workbench thread which I prefer.

Better to keep all your builds in one thread & change the title to reflect the content IMO .

Phill :)
Which makes it a personal blog rather than a thread with a distinct theme. Changing the title does NOT reflect past content which will make it much more difficult and less intuitive when trying to locate a particular item. IMO

Trouble is if you start another thread for every project the older stuff will disappear eventually, but it's up to the individual really..........mine is all in one thread though & will remain so ;)

I'm with lnerjp on this one. I tend to remember who's done what. If I want to go back to check on something, it's a lot easier to search through one thread (even if it is a long one) than to try to remember in which specific thread to look.

Given my pro scattergun approach, I would have many little threads with nothing of consequence, as opposed to one big thread with nothing of consequence:)

Which presupposes that you are not a new member and have a good memory! All of which makes the thread title (or changing it) an irrelevance.

Point well made, but I suspect new members will have a meander through everything, rather than just look at titles.

Perhaps a new member can enlighten us?

Maybe we should just return the thread to JP and agree to disagree.

So many opportunities for comment on the recent flurry of posts to a thread which is described as sporadic.... and yet, uncertainty comes to the fore and procrastination takes over. Adrian (Buckjumper) is responsible for so much....

I tend to think smaller threads are better, but it doesn't really matter as long as the OP is happy. It is possible to 'follow' a member so you don't miss any of their posts (!) and the search facility does actually work quite well ;)

I am glad that you have written the above for I searched for "followers" exepcting some information as to what this means and how the facility works. Nuttin'...

How does "following" work here?

thanks, Graham
