A Jubilee first please!
I wouldn’t mind one of these as well!!

Was I dreaming or did I read some time back that you may do the Giesel oblong Ejector as an option for the Battle of Britain??
I commissioned Chris at severn Mill to do me a set of plates for Fighter command about 8 years ago! It would be nice to make use of them at some point.

No you were not, yes we are .

It's not an overly technical exercise, I even have a spare (unfit for sale) resin casing to work with, it's just time.....and a little more progressive memory management.

To expand on Richards text last week.

The main push has been re-issuing existing kits where practicable, but that also has to be balanced with new projects, some times the workload favors one, sometimes the other. Recently for me it's been the LNER Pacifics, new instructions, some reworked castings and some new ones as well; some of these are also pertinent to the W1 and some of the new W1 are also crossed over back to the A4.

The Pacifics are all but complete and within a few weeks I should have a complete set of castings, both resin, brass and white metal for the W1.

Once I return to the UK (just over two weeks time) the focus is on checking the W1 castings and making sure they fit the etches (adjust if necessary), clean up any loose ends required for production and then send off for the final photo tool.

Once the etches return I will begin the final BFB (build from box), this will make sure everything fits, all the sundries, wire lengths, screws etc are cataloged; it will also be photographed and the instructions written as I go along to speed up the process.

Post Telford I will have cleared all my distractions away and will be doing nothing else except the W1 final build.

Once that is done it will be the B1; lesson learnt on the W1 should hopefully reduce the development time on the B1.

Hi,

With Kettering coming up, time to announce a few things.

We will have the L11, T9 narrow cab and T9 wide cab engines available. They are already packed. The 6 wheel and watercart tenders will be available about a month later. Our new instructions are not quite ready for these locos. We will post the original Martin Finney instructions on our website, and forward our new set to customers when they are available. If you do want to pick one of these up at Kettering, it's worth reserving one as we will not be able to take our full stock.

We are expecting the W1 engine to be available on the day, even if we are packing the day before. The instructions are done for this - good job as it's a very complete kit. However, we have had a run on the appropriate tenders, so they will not be available; we are restocking. If purchased on the day with a W1, we will send it on post-free.

The Great Western kits get ever closer. We have prepared the patterns for the new mould, and they will go off next week, so the 51xx, Hall and 4000 gallon tender should be available by the end of March. There should be a steady stream of GW releases following from that.

As far as new developments go, we're back on the B1 working on the casting patterns and the 94xx is steadily progressing. It's going to be a very busy year. We would welcome serious expresssions of interest in the B1 and 94xx, but no deposit at this stage.

Likewise I'd like to put my name down for a B1 - some of us have already bought the nameplates #5 :D

Will the kit be full nickel-silver etches? If not then I'd like to put in a special order for all nickel-silver etches.

All my kits are nickel silver and I'm fairly sure most of the other new ones will be from the other guys, but only they can confirm that.

Good choice of name for the City! Both classes before my era but I did see City of Truro on display at Moor Street in 1960, along with the Caledonian single wheeler No. 123. The authorities had no problem letting people clamber all over them - how times have changed.

DikiTriki Good to see the Duke kit available, Why have'nt you included the side skirts on the W1 kit so that it's 1939 condition can be modelled as per the A4s with the side skirts?

Hi Pinza,

With regard to the W1, and due to our design of the cylinders attached to the chassis, we couldn't see how to do the front valences which would require sheet N/S to be accurately bent in 2 planes at the same time and properly attached. We have now come up with a possible production methodology to enable full valences to be added to the kit, but that will be a little way away.

Progress on the 94XX. Honest!

We have reached the exciting stage of receiving the 3D printed masters for finishing. These will be used to make the moulds for the resin castings. I could show you a photo of them but that would cause Steph to explode. So here is a very colouful picture of something I did earlier.

I am working throught he last development build and this will match up to the first casting out of the mould. This build is also being used to write the instructions. So we are nearly out of development and into production.

Hopefully on the Finney7 stand at a GOG type show soon!

I've just finished off an M7. Originally built by Chris Wesson, I have effected minor repairs, detailed it a little, rewheeled it and repainted the chassis, and Paul Moore has refreshed the body paintwork in places and revarnished. I've added ProtoCab R/C and it's now ready for hand over to the new owner.
