Lovely work Richard, looking forward to seeing the Lanky tank at the show. When you have more time it would be great to hear the painting process on the crew

Thanks Mick, I shall post some pics of the Lanky tank and 1F now the dust has settled on the show. I have some more crew to do for other locos so I'll take progress pictures then.

:))
Can you let us know which makers supply these figures, Richard?

Not with certainty! I pick up decent looking figures as and when I see them - from Aidan Campbell, Heroes of the Footplate, Omen Miniatures, Andy Stadden. The only one I can identify for sure is the 1F fireman - Aidan Campbell SVN 001. His driver had a beard (I think) before I carved it off.

I've got a big tidy of my workbench before I can get back into action, but like an intermission card in the meantime, here's a photo that Allan took of my Black 5 cab the other day. There's only about 3 days work before this is finished, but it is still some way down the pecking order as we already have 4 Black 5s on the layout.

Richard,

I expect you'll get a red flag from Jordan for that picture. It's not considered good form to post pictures of the real thing and try to pass them off as models.

Slightly more seriously I must say it 'had' me for more than a minute. A fantastic bit of modelling...

It's very similar to Richards 8f, in as much as no trace of any solder :thumbs:. Lovely neat work.

Not quite, this time, since all the gauges appear to have had their clocks removed ;) ... but it wasn't far off, for sure!!

I didn't get time before Aylesbury, but I meant to take some photos of the completed 1F and Lanky tank.

I took some today, but the light has been awful, so I only got a few of the 1F....

The emergency rework of the chassis was entirely successful. It ran all day Saturday without faltering and without needing a wheel clean, and indeed without the sound faltering.

I must admit to be really pleased with how this turned out. I'll try to get some more tomorrow, if the weather improves.

Cheers

Lovely work there Richard. I especially like the fresh rust on the buffer heads and the weathered loco lamps. My pet hate is a well weathered loco and spotless bright white lamps!! Looking forward to pictures of the lanky tank, after Railex I really had a strain on will power not to get mine out and make a start,
