Perhaps it might be a nice thing to start a thread of praise to the small - and large - companies that provide stuff for our hobby. It's very easy to pick holes and mutter about poor service, so I think credit where credit is due.

I'll start by thanking Fox Transfers. I ordered some paint and transfers from the web site yesterday, and it all arrived this morning. The paint came by courier, the transfers by Royal Mail. I can't think of many other suppliers who get stuff out so quickly.

A pity I missed out something which means I'll have to make another order!

Also, a thanks to Just The Ticket Engineering Supplies, who has turned the world upside down to see if he could source some 16BA washers to match my order of nuts and bolts. Sadly, it seems such small washers are all but impossible to come by.

Heather,

Good idea to give praise where it is due.

Scale Hardware in the US have given me great service. There stuff could be considered expensive but it is very good.
They do washers too, photo etched in 0.5mm, 0.8mm and 1mm in brass and stainless. Also turned larger sizes in brass.

Chris at Severn mill nameplates always gives great service
JLTRT have been great this year for all the castings I've had off them

Totally agree Mark & Compton Castle. I've had some good conversational help with transfers. Steve is doing a lot of RTC stuff in 7mm.:thumbs:

A thumbs up to Invertrain Model Railways.

Invertrain have taken on the Heroes of the Footplate range. While the web site ordering system is clumsy, not to say downright annoying, the delivery of my order was exemplary. I am now in possession of loads of tiddley peeps with which to populate the various locos coming through the workshop, less than 48 hours from my order.

Jim Mc Geown ( Connoisseur models)
When I made the decision to teach my self to build etched brass kits, Jim was so helpful and generous with his time. Following a cock up with the sole bars, Jim sent me foc, virtually a replacement kit of etches!
Also David Parkins has been a perfect gent, again with his time and generousity digging me out of problems of my own making!
I have still to take delivery of my MOK 9F, but Dave Sharpe has shown an amazing level of patience with my constant barrage of questions and requests.
People like this make our hobby infinitely better
