Hello this is my first attempt as a 'new recruit'. I am located in West Sussex and plan to start a new S7 layout during the next few months following completion of a rebuild of my railway workshop. I started model railway construction some 50+ years ago and have built a number of EM, P4 and fine scale O gauge exhibition layouts with the last 4 layouts being to S7 standards. I aim to avoid compromise with my work but I usually accept defeat due to lack of space, costs, time etc. etc. factors - a common situation I suspect!

Hello Julian, and welcome to WT.

There is a strong S7 contingent here, so I hope you will feel at home.

Welcome Julian,

A good place to be, lots of "doing"... plenty of photos... fair bit of S7.

Try the workbench for all topic if you want to ease into the melee, see here.

Hello Julian and welcome to WT.

Are you the builder of "Wyebridge" fame by any chance? Either way, I look forward to seeing some progress reports (and pictures) of your forthcoming S7 layout in due course.

Thanks for the welcome. Yes I am a member of the 7mm South Coast Group. With regards Wyebridge this was rehoused nearly a year ago and I understand that Martyn Welch is now giving it a 'new face' - suitably weathered no doubt!

Thanks for the prompt but sad to say I needed a little time to revisit past S7 layout building to recall what I have done!
Croscombe was started approx. 20 years ago and then moved from my ownership to Don Field (BRM Jan. 02) it later returned to me for a refurb after which it was named Charlton Abbotts and exhibited a few more times before retirement; Wyebridge High Street came next as an entry to the GOG to 2002 layout competition (BRM Sept. 03) ; Dinedor was the third layout returning to the 'roundy' design but not built for exhibiting (S7 newsletter Feb. 07) - broken up when I moved house; most recently Wyebridge was built for exhibition (nothing to do with the earlier High Street project) and this is now with another Group member.
Well that's it until I get started on the new project.
