SVR Spring Gala March 2015

Hi Folks

A number of the Heyside Group had a day out at the SVR spring gala today, based at Highley. The morning light was not brilliant for photography, but the day and the condition of the locos was.

I took a few photos, and have never seen Highley busier, with 3 trains in the station on a number of occasions.

I thought the coal tank was absolutely superb, I always liked Sir KP and Bulleids in general, and the WD looked in very good condition, even if it didn't clank and wheeze, and was far too clean.

A Grand Day Out.

Great pics, Richard.

Out of interest, I note the Pannier and WD are builds done and under way, and the 4200 is pending. Wonder when I might get a Bulleid or a Coal Tank… :)

Thanks for posting those great pictures Richard, especially like Sir Keith Park - I now have Budleigh Salterton here in the display case, showing the same 'headcode'.

cheers

Just a few more.

As you might imagine, I took a number of detailed shots for future build reference - just in case - but I shall not inflict those on you, other than a couple of specimen shots.

The 15xx I had to grab quickly as it went through with just a couple of empty carriages on the middle line, between trains either side!

My comment about light was not referencing the eclipse, which was barely noticeable, but that you are taking towards the sun in the morning.

Weather looks good today too, so if you're going, have a good time!

Nope, doesn't float my boat.

The photo above represents 1/3 of my entire 15XX library. I thought Steve might be interested:)

Richard
I should think Steve is lying down in a darkened room after that super photo ;) as area all the rest

I hope the WD is one you took lots of detailed photos of, I may need to raid your collection in the future at some point :D

Hi all

I'm doing a photo charter with Sir Keith Park on Monday so if any requires any detail photos just ask. I also should have said and on anything else that is on the SVR, and I get the chance to photograph it.

Richard

Whilst you were on the SVR I was at Rocks by Rail again for another photo charter, but this one our sixth visit unlike the other five we had sun all day, except for the eclipse.
So here's a photo taken through the smoke of Andrew Barcley 0-4-0 Sir Thomas Royden.

Hi All and Richard

I hope you don't mind me adding some more photos of the locos from the recent SVR gala, only these are of them cold in Bewdley yard. I was there on the 24th on a Sir Keith Park charter.

I also took photos 4566 which is still black but I've posted this engine previously so I shall not post any this time.

One photo of Sir Keith Park on the approach to Daniels Mill viaduct after we all had all de-trained.
