Hi Nick I love your work it's something to aspire to . Will the parts your using be available to us lesser mortals?

Len,

I can answer that.

The production of the Drummond Stephenson inside motion set is ongoing, with most of the hard work being undertaken by Simon T. Nick is the representative customer and I'm contributing my research and a little computer time to draft an accompanying etch.

The cost of producing the patterns has been met by the Gauge 0 Guild, coming from an initiative by the Technical Committee to understand more about the processes involved in 'digital pattern making'.

The patterns have been handed over to Laurie Griffin who will make the full set of castings (and etch) available as a full set.

As an aside the development of the parts has given the Technical Committee team a genuine insight into the process and the lessons learnt are available to all who are interested.

I've just had a quick look on the guild web site and it does not quote you as "Technical Director" only as chairman of the technical committee.

OzzyO.

Hi Ozzy.

If you look at the page of officers there's a set of photos of a right collection of reprobates, and under the top line - "Board" - appears his lordship's photo. I think that makes him a Director -he's certainly registered as one - a Director I mean.

Still can't work a mobile phone tho eh Steph:D
It's true. I am continually amazed by the amount of pain, embarrassment and confusion that it's possible to cause with a mixture of mobile telephony, poor brain engagement ('high impedance between headphones') and marginally under-developed user interfaces...

...progress a bit slow over the last week (usurped by spring cleaning, gardening, motorcycling yay, etc.,) but this week I have put some oil boxes on the motion bracket. The castings came with cast plinths for round oilboxes (left), but the T9s have rectangular ones, see below (right).

I then made some oilbox lids to glue on, when the painting is complete, to give a metallic finish.

Next the motion brackets will be attached to the frames.....

Now I can see the photo on something other than a phone screen, I see what you mean. Looking forward to seeing it with no space available between the frames ;). Shall we play 'Where's Steph'?:D

The T9 build is progressing very well and it won't be too long before I finish. I therefore have an eye on the next project which will be 2x W1s. I will no doubt be raiding Ragstone's parts bin, but I need someone to draw me some etchings for the W1 cab/roof and floor. I have no experience in this area and so I am looking for offers or recommendations. I have LNER works drawings of the cab, but they will need to be checked against the cast body.

Thanks
