Hi all, anyone know if there is a kit for a class 16?

There was talk of having one for the West Mersea groups layout Love Lane..

Had a little google up, but can't see anything in 7mm...?

El Crappo used to do one. Do you want me to tell you how I know this?:))

If I'm honest, you'd be better off scratch building!

Jon,

SB model is a BTH class 15 82xx not an NBL 16 84xx, which is what I think JB is after. Mind they weren't that reliable anyway so modelling one is a waste of time as they spent most of their time at Stratford being repaired, or just plain dumped.

I do have a SB class 15 kit but etches only, no instructions either:cool:, mind having heard the stories of previous SB castings, I don't think I'm missing much
I also have one of his class 17s, both are stored safe under the bench as something to tackle when I need reminding that the current kit I'm working on isn't really as bad as I thought it might be!

JB, I'm with Heather, scratch build, it's much less pain, for either of these two classes, I'm only keeping mine for the time being as the bogies look quite nice, from first initial investigation, and I didn't pay much for them on Ebay.

Here's one for your delight and delectation.

.....so they weren't always broken down and in works. Unless this was stopped and waiting for a B1 to collect it and take it home.

I'll second that . perhaps we could make it a joint project, profile milled and etches ;) 'cause I wouldn't mind one either :D.

Steve did a 16 I think. If it's anything like the 10800 kit it'll be okay.
The bogies need a little work, but are a work of art...

I have seen a class 16 kit at the Bristol show. 2015, have asked a friend for the name of the trader.
Re SB bogies for the class 15, try JLTRT class 17 bogies, swap brake cylinder and sand boxes and construct new bogie fixing.
Works well and better quality.
Just need to make replacement ends to complete my class 15.
