My names michael. I am new to o gauge having spend many of the past few years building and playing around with 5 gauge live steam locomotives. But after watching a few very interesting o gauge locomotives at a show my interest picked up. I am just amazed at the detail you chaps can put on.and after joining two local clubs how much fun o gauge modeling is.

Hi Michael.

I did a bit of large scale live steam modelling too, 3" scale traction engines in my case, but now I stick to 7 mm scale modelling.
If you are just starting in 7 mil you should consider Scaleseven rather than just O gauge. You will find that working to exact scale is a lot easier, especially if you scratch build, and you don't need to make very many compromises. Keep us posted with news of your progress.

Ian.

Hi ian. I was able to pick up a box lot of o gauge at a local auction sometime back.so wll play around with these until I have completed my 5 gauge stirling. I do hope to scratch build a stirling once I get the small cnc milling machine set up, this will be needed to make the smokebox, wheels etc. But like always, lots to do snd so little time.i think however that my days of playing around with live steam are numbered, just too many rules and regulations, and its always raining.

Thanks chaps. will post some pics of my live steam locos, the stirling is looking a bit sad at the moment due to its plate work being removed as I had to replace the axle water pump piping and its a pain on this loco due to lack of space between the frames and the firebox. here are some of the locos I made.
