As a change from harbour/boat modelling time to get back to playing operating trains, 6331 leaves bound for Newton Abbott and will be crossed by the next arrival from Newton at Wencombe, the Kingsbridge portion of the Wolverhampton Plymouth train, which will be the next arrival at Kingsbridge.

The Wolverhampton train arrives behind Western Queen whose next job once having shunted its carriages out of the way and the DMU having returned to Exeter will be to haul the South Devon to Paddington. More of that later.

Alan, I didn't mean PS to the picture itself just the blurred areas around the trees (which I assume is where the shadows were) and probably enhances the shots, you might find it benifitial to use the clone tool to sample parts of the trees and paste over those small areas...just trying to help, as the pictures themselves look great :)

I was hoping to get some pictures from the balcony of the Sea View Hotel across the station to the harbour but unfortunately my small camera had a flat battery so I took some from the road with my big camera.

To begin a couple which have just been cropped to take out the curtains etc.

Now the same two with some Photoshopping (getting rid of the baseboard edges).
I think the second one looks like one of those hand coloured post cards of the early Edwardian era.

Many thanks Adrian. Photos taken from that side of the layout are done with a hope and a Prayer as I do not know what exactly will be in the photo.

In the end I did mange to take some from the Sea View Hotel balcony. Unfortunately there is a leaning lamppost ( without G. Formby leaning on it).

For those of you that may have wondered what happened to the work on the D600 warship it stalled as I could not find a Bachmann chassis. So I did the work on the harbour. However in the end I found a chassis and work has commenced again. The bogies have been fitted and the centre bit re done. You may wonder what the black strips are down the side . They are to make the body fit comfortably.

post-7090-0-85273600-1488471119_thumb.jpg

The body has just been placed on at the moment so you can get and idea what it will look like when finished. There is still work to do, overhead flashes to be applied, discs to be added, AND I just noticed that one buffer has broken (Probably when the body fell of my work bench this morning. UUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG. That means purchasing a set of oval buffers. I can't find the broken piece.

post-7090-0-38800000-1488471384_thumb.jpg

Anybody now who are the best suppliers of buffers?

Back to playing trains, whoops operating the layout.

The Exeter train leaves on a slightly overcast day (one of the joys of Kingsbridge is watch a short train leave or arrive by running alongside a much longer platform.

This now allows Western Queen to shunt the train she hauled and then go fetch the stock for the up South Devon from the carriage sidings.

She runs round the train

post-7090-0-28662200-1488575512_thumb.jpg

And gets ready to depart by pushing the stock back down the platform. with a storm brewing in the background over Dartmoor.

Luckily the storm blows away to leave the departing holidaymakers with a sunny memory of their stay in Kingsbridge Regis.

And after turning and moving her stock into the Bat platform she awaits for the trip (as far as she is concerned that will be to Newton Abbot).
