Steve, I expect it's bigger then 1:76 scale, but because it's in parts, most of the recking work is done for you, ie. No sawing parts off etc

Go for it;)

A train of empty wagons approaching Pen y Bryn colliery, the corner of the room has been PS'd out.

Pretty much the same picture but this time with greater depth of field, ie the background blurred which gives more focus to the main areas.

The same picture cropped.

BTW, all things being equal, Pen-Y-Bryn will be featured in Railway Modeller next year :)

Here's one way of adding creepers/ivy using Woodland Scenics Foliage and Turf.

Before.

IVY 1_zpsf3c9ztu4.jpg

PVA added.

IVY 2_zpsgic19vp4.jpg

Foliage teezed to shape and pressed on after PVA has got tacky.

IVY 3_zpsnwz4mzhc.jpg

Tendril lines added with PVA.

IVY 4_zpsaqzgl0ck.jpg

Loose particles added and pressed on.

IVY 5_zps8wjoweap.jpg

Darker coloured particles added here and there.

IVY 6_zps0t5w8pij.jpg

More tendrills added with deluted (Thinner) PVA and Turf (On a piece of paper) blown on with a straw, also lightly over the whole area.

Finished.

That's a cracking shot of the Mogul Phil, I can almost smell hot oil and steam.

Cheers,

Wills Stone sheets are great for bridges etc, but some of the stone blocks are over scale for things like station buildings, here's a mod to correct this, the circled area.

Very neat.

The sheets are fine for random stone buildings but no good for modelling Yorkshire stone buildings. Here the stone is faced and laid in very neat courses.

I could be wrong but I think random stone is more of a West Country thing.
