A Railway enthusiast's dream home?

While browsing another forum earlier I came across this which must rank amongst the best "Railway" houses that I have ever seen.

Way out of our price range and much too far sarf but it's been very tastefully done.

What do you mean too far " Sarf " Rob? I walk past this property nearly every day when walking the dogs. It is about 150 yds from a lovely beach, and we are proud to have more hours of sunshine than literally anywhere else in the UK .

There are still quite a few similar properties close by to the one you looked at, and all in various states of repair. Two ex LB& SCR 4 wheel coaches recently left here for restoration over at the Bluebell rly.

Some are rentals, so if you fancy a week in the " Best " part of the UK, let me know and I will send you some details.

Cheers,

Martyn.

Hi Martyn,

We wish to move northwards (North Yorkshire) rather than southwards. I may take you up on the rental info at some point though.

Nice place.
Years ago when I used to go shopfitting. I was working in an agent's in Salisbury. One property there has list amount the granny annex, the guest house, the billiards room, games room, ballroom etc, a railway room, which was not small either, 30' x 15'. Price for me was bit steep, I was few millions short.

Well, I must admit the real estate agents have a nice property but our "railway room with house attached" in southern France might be more appropriate to WT modellers. Ironically the realtor's website never mentioned the existing home cinema with 7.4 x 4.5 meters dimensions but when she opened the door I was seeing trains running round the room! Fortunately the rest of the house also lived up to expectations. Though we don't have 19th century MR carriages, a nice touch we couldn't expect down here!
