7mm A pair of A3s

I never tire of seeing images of completed 7mm A3s especially so in the case of Richard Lamberts recent completion of 60065 in BR green and double chimney.

Not to everyone's taste but I adored them in the double chimney and German witte deflectors guise and I'm now fortunate to have two. The first is 60051 completed from a Finney A3 loco kit and a DJH high sided tender. Finished to represent the loco at a specific period during May 1964 when it was bulled up for a tour that also in involved 4472.
The second of 60040 Cameronian is pure DJH with added detail and finished in a condition I was never lucky to see it in. Both models feature the ability to manually set the valve gear to mid / forward or reverse gear

They look superb Bob.

Reminds me I really must arrange to get my Finney A3 painted as 60058 Blair Athol. I think the boiler cladding fastenings on the DJH one look a bit on the large size, but still a fantastic model.

Did you modify the DJH valve gear or manage to get a set of Finney gear?

Cheers,
Peter

Thank you Peter. The DJH lost wax Radius link castings were modified along with the radius rod supplied in the kit. Once complete the set up virtually mirrors the process found in MF kits for the A3, A4 and V2
