Sandy Harper
Western Thunderer
A couple of easy projects across the WB recently whilst I recover from my latest op (Cataract removal)
The Y7 is a 'Big Jim' kit with modifications made to the rear of the cab by the North Sunderland Railway and a Sentinel Y1/1.
For anyone thinking of getting into loco kit building, the Y1/1 is a perfect starter kit. It comes complete, (wheels, motor, gears, delrin drive, nuts bolts wires, self contained sprung buffers, transfers for BR Departmental loco 37 and brass and w/m castings etc). Everything you need except for solder, flux and paint, and can be built in a weekend, although as a beginner, a couple of weeks would be more realistic.
I have been medically advised to avoid spray painting for a couple of weeks until the eye is fully healed so it looks like some hand painting till then!
