I registered some time ago and have been in awe of modelling on here! Not sure if my stuff is up to that standard in the slightest, but it keeps my busy and out of trouble! I'm a signaller with Network Rail and live in East Yorkshire.

My main interests are modelling the North Eastern Railway circa 1913 and the early 1990s, both in P4. I especially like local railways or those I have had personal experience of - so the North Eastern in my native East Yorkshire has a huge appeal for and my 1990s modelling is pure nostalgia! Must be getting old! :) There's also a bit of 1950s modelling for my Dad too.

This is one of my NER locos, a Class U (LNER N10) built from one the much missed 4mm kits from Connoisseur Kits -

One of my locos for my 1990s North Lincolnshire project - a combination of a Lima body and underframe with Hornby running gear with Gibson wheels.

I'm beginning to build sprung diesels thanks to the advent of ranges from traders like Penbits, which along with Shawplan's superb range of 'Extreme' parts has opened up all sorts of possibilities for those wanting to push the boundaries of 4mm diesels :)

I also have ambitions towards modelling local railways in a larger scale, but that's another story - well all being well it will be!

Welcome aboard, James!

I have to say this is the friendliest forum around. I hope you enjoy the company, share plenty of pictures, and - you never know - you may be able to teach the old dogs a few tricks!

Thank you for the warm welcome!

WT does seem very friendly from what I've read and seen so far; I registered some time ago but have been off forums for the last few months, aside from the odd post here and there, but the quality of modelling here is something to aspire to and there's a lot of knowledge here too. It looks like the sort of place of which I'd like to be part :)

Hi James,

Great to meet up at York today and put a face to the name. Looking forward to seeing how you progress up to 7mm and your other projects in 4mm, all you need now is a workbench thread :)
