Mine arrived today and apart from one of the sand boxes falling off and a grab rail requiring attention the loco ran very well . All was sorted with a drop of glue .
Re positioning of the speaker I was thinking of using the double cube unit and positioning at the front behind the radiator ...
Hi Ceejaydee. On my last two layouts I used pva watered down to a milky liquid to glue the ballast to the board it takes 24/36 hours to set before sucking up the excess . I needed to relay some of the ballasted track but by just wetting the ballast and leaving it for 5 the track was easy to...
About time you clocked back in we need the BLUE BRIGADE back to ward off those minions . don't forget that when you mix blue and yellow together you get green . Looking forward to seeing the progress of Watery Lane
Hi Jordan . Thanks for the compliments. I hadn't heard of Ian Futers before so I googled his name and checked out his great work  . The layout just evolved . It goes to show what can be done in a limited space thanks to my mk1 three road sector plate :))
Some more images of the layout . the station now has a name "Bryn Cwm " , A fictitious industrial location set somewhere along the heads of the valleys .
Merry Christmas to all Members and Guests .
I finally got around to stripping down my Hymek and replaced two split gears and guess what, after running the loco just a few times up and down my layout it has split another gear . Oh well they will make a nice wagon load for my o 9 gauge loco to pull once painted dark rust, meanwhile the...
After placing the signal box on the layout I decided that it needed a raised base and some steps . meanwhile the station is starting to take on shape .
Thanks for the reply, it really shows what you can do in n gauge in a relatively small space. Shows the benefit of the scale to the max! Is there a fiddle yard to then add on to that?
Cheers again,
David
The fiddle yard is hidden behind the back scene of the factory, it can be seen at the top...
Thanks for the compliment ,yes they are a good focal point and hopefully help make the layout a little more realistic for not much effort . As space on this project is limited ,I chose a small stream crossing as it wouldn't overpower other scenics that I have in mind . The platform looks about...
The bridge is now in place and I have made a start on building the platform ,its taken six sheets of various plasticard to construct so far , what a contrast to my recent n gauge muddling . With the track work wired up I have been able to play trains and I am quite happy with the possible...
After looking at Phill's sector plate thread ,which I had totally forgotten about  I bought some brass rod and tube and got the soldering iron out ,the result was successful  . Work has also started on a small bridge over a canal /stream scene for the layout
Thanks for that Phill .
Hi David thanks for your kind comments re my mk4 terminus ,it measured 6ft long by 11ins wide
I have laid some track on the o gauge layout . the plan allows for a loco to run round its train using the sector plate and also allow space for a rail bus or auto train to run
I made a start on my construction of a two section O gauge 10ft x 15" mini layout . I decided to have a go at making a sector plate (my very first attempt) this section of board is 4ft long with the rest of the layout on a 6 ft board . Now comes the fun of wiring it up . I was planning on...
