It would work as a master, but I think it may be a little fragile just to print and use. Maybe adding some provision for a piece of brass wire to act as a reinforcement might be a good idea?
Ive been wanting to get to grips with Rhino for a while, and there is nothing like a project for learning..... now if i thought i would get a decent print id whack it off to Shapeways.
I like that  its 'flatter' than some other shots but it works for me, I would imagine it could be made quite 'Bradford Barton' in black and white
Adrian, one of the problems inherent with outsourcing the CAD is that inaccuracies creep in, contract CAD monkeys could be drawing o gauge wagons one week and Bob the builder the next, they simply dont have the subject knowledge.
I have built several Catfish, I find they take 40 odd hours to build properly, at £10 an hr thats £400.......
How many do you want? :)) There are some who will pay that, but not many.
I also seem to remember Guy Williams suggesting that full on lining was too much for a GWR 517 in 4mm. The challenge is getting the impression....
There must also be a huge list of locos with a layout that size?
Like you, I do wonder how many people buying the dapol wagon will bother building any kits. Totally agree about the brakes, it is toy like, but if people gratefully lap it up and buy them then where is the incentive to improve them? I also wonder if people accept deficiencies in rolling stock...
I read in an early MRJ about scribing the brass might that work? I just wondered because its one of those things that really cant be left off. Showing my ignorance are they MR or S&D ?
