7mm layout for disposal - free to be collected

John Lewsey and I have agreed that the S7 layout known as Hartley Hill is to be disposed of or otherwise broken up. The story of what has been built can be found in the "Hartley Hill" topic on this forum. As stated in the title, the layout can be yours for the simple task of collecting from my garage (which is about five miles to the west of Basingstoke).

There are two baseboards, the larger board is about 8' long and about 3'6" wide, the smaller board is about 4' long and about 3'6" wide. The. boards are about 6" deep. Whilst I can lift the small board the larger board does need two people for a lift.

No work has been done on the layout since the last photos were posted on WT so what you can see in the most recent photos of the Hartley Hill topic is what is up for grabs.

I shall break up the boards at the end of July if there is no interest.

Regards, Graham

Hi Graham
I've just had a browse through the Hartley Hill thread and had forgotten just how long ago it started! I truly hope that a good home will be found for the part-layout. There's some lovely track work on there and it's an excellent tutorial piece. I just don't have the space or I would be on my way now!
Good luck
Dave

The end of the month is approaching, just five days to go.

Come the 1st of August I shall cut the boards into pieces to fit in the car and then take the bits to the local waste recycling centre.

Just like a Phoenix, from the demise of one layout shall come the birth of another. The next layout to be built in our garage is likely to be Fort William oil terminal and Banavie Jcn..

I trust you will salvage the chairs and the rail. I salvaged C&L chairs twice for new layouts and they still worked well.

Graham, that seems an heartbreaking waste of a layout, especially when S7 layouts are few and far between.

I would gladly receive it, the problem being we can't swing a cat in our living space. Are there no areas groups that require a layout, even if it is for testing and general running ?

Graham, there is a thriving Scale 7 group in the Mendip modellers and we have plenty of space so would love to have it if its not already gone. PM me and we can make arrangements for collection, Im not a million miles from Basingstoke.

Jerry
Thats's a relief. I wish you every success.
I have no space, and no transport, but the need for 7mm trackage runs deep, so I've been sat here trying to figure ways of getting it back to Cornwall!

Cheers

Late last night I received an offer to take the baseboards and I have agreed, so at the moment the baseboards are going to be heading around the M25 for somewhere north and east of London.

If this offer falls through then I shall contact Jerry before taking any drastic action.

A S7 layout moving into an area to the north-east of London... somewhere into an area within reach of S7 modelling of matters BR(E).... I shall leave you and other S7 interests to work out the answer.

That's great! A third S7 layout in my area...

Or is it? I'm already torn between two very active groups.
