Prototype A day out in Birkenhead

Rob R

Western Thunderer
Well, probably only just an hour or so off the Merky Ferry.

It is the 21st September 1938 and all I can say is that engines on the LMS and GWR are a lot grubbier than on the LNER.

Usual disclaimers and copyright blurb as per previous posts.

Great Western engine models are rarely this dirty. 3578 is not looking her best.

This is on 2400dpi greyscale. The loco is only an inch long on the original print but I do need to clean the underneath of the scanner glass...

Fowler Dock tank 7106 simmers gently.

Stanier 4MT tank 2483 with an unknown 61xx interloper.

Super D with a dirty number x178. I'll have a play sometime to see if the number will show a bit better.

Again a dirty number 883x is the best I can get at the moment.

Enjoy and if you want me to try for a better scan just shout and I'll put your name on the list :)
