Where you type the new message, there's three tabs at the bottom of the message text box, Post Reply, Upload a File and More options, click the middle one and in that pane simply upload the image from your PC, then click insert as thumbnail of if you do nothing it will simply be appended to the end of your message. When inserting as a thumbnail make sure the cursor is in the right place in the message text, give it a whizz, easy to get the hang of it, if not then simply go back and edit your message and put it right, pretty intuitive once you get a hang of it.

Hope that helps

I prefer the full image, instead of the thumb nail. So press the full image button!

I've got a fast broadband, so do my posts take a while to load for some of you?

I guess there will be mixed opinions. My own preference is to wait a few seconds longer for the full images rather than thumbnails.

I prefer thumbs, not that because I have a slow connection (30Mb) but because I can pick and choose which ones I want to look at in detail, I also like large pictures, anything less than 2000x1300 on the web has to be good or of particular interest for me to collect, but I do post to this forum at 1500 as I feel that's a nice compromise for those with slower connections or smaller screens, and I do post as thumbs to give users the choice to expand or not. Some forums I used to frequent only allowed 800x600, that's thumbnail size as far as I'm concerned and of little use to anyone with larger screens, but perfectly acceptable for those still with small screens I presume.

I habit this forum more than most now simply because of the image quality and virtually zero size limitations, other than file size which is perfectly reasonable, any half decent picture editing program can compress a *.jpg to well below the site limits and retain fidelity, I use Paint shop pro but InfraView is just as good if all you want to do is *.jpg compression.

Personally I prefer 800 x600 rather than thumbnail, but once you are in the thumbnail viewer it does allow you to scroll through all the images on a page. I dont take pictures worthy of a higher resolution !

So it seems that there are two ways of adding pictures into my posts - I can either upload an image file or I can embed a flickr image . . .

Does it matter which one I use, please? Anybody?
