American modellers are so lucky as there are tons of really high quality stuff out there for the US RTR market for about a third of the British RTR price, lets face it our stuff is way overpriced! once again how we are ripped off in Britain   Lovely models by the way Jordan  Also: Should I post my lima 33 coversion thread here???

Not all Soo locos were white'n'red, though... this is going to be my next loco; an Ex-Milwaukee Road GP40. Soo spared no expense on the re-livery, as you can see...

Okay guys, History Lesson Time...

SOO... The original Railroad was called the Minneapolis, St Paul and Sault Sainte Marie, in the 1880s. This is a bit of a mouthful, admitedly. Sault Sainte Marie is a town in Michigan's Upper Peninsular which is on both sides of the Saint Mary's River which is also the border between USA & Canada, so the town is in two halves and two Countries...

With me so far?

The town was called Sault Sainte Marie by the French who settled it... "Sault" is French for 'rapids' and is pronounced "sue" or, as Americans can't spell#, "soo".... the area around the town became known as The Soo, so the Railroad that went there became called "The Soo Line".....

*Seemples* ;)

# e.g. "aluminum" instead of "aluminium", "color" instead of "colour" etc etc etc... :p
