The LMS Twins, along with the three Bulleid 1Co-Co1 locos, spent a couple of years during the early 1950s working a variety of trains on the Southern Region. This build, from the JLTRT kit with some extras and modifications, represents 10001 in its 1953 condition. It has the original black and silver livery, but with the large BR totem. It also sports some modifications that took place in service, such as roof cooling grilles for the turbochargers and brackets at one end for experimental two-tone air horns.

I do have a soft spot for these pioneer diesels. The early livery was striking.
Agree 100%!
That is absolutely gorgeous.
I always thought it a pity they didn't build a fleet of these, could have saved a few bob on all those wasted designs a few years later. At least we still have their legacy with us.
Cheers,
John.

Heather that looks great.

Does this mean you can build my coaches now ?

Yes, I suppose I ought to squeeze them in.

I made a mistake the other day. I set out a monthly schedule of the builds I have to do, and I got as far as September 2018 without any repeats.

Next job, after Telford, then, is to sort out the bogies. I think I'll go with the Kemilway ones, as it seems a shame not to do it properly. I might consider the coaches as a Christmas break project.

I absolutely love this Heather! You have captured not only the look but the feeling of this beast! The weathering brings it to life even more.
