I've been thinking about a modular type building for a while and I've previously posted pictures of my previous thoughts. I recently came across some pictures of an warehouse in Ipswich that would work as a modular build without much compromise.

So a preview of a modular wharf warehouse. I've cut out some modules but have passed those along to be painted before I remembered to take pictures so I will post some of those later.

A version of this will be on the Bury St Edmunds Model Railway Club newest exhibition 7mm layout that is currently being planned.

Hi Phil,

could you give us some idea of the modular dimensions as this could be the andswer to my prayer for the Club's new layout.

Baker st building backs001 (800x798).jpg Hi Phil,
can you give us some idea of the modular dimensions for the warehouse and also if you intend to add a part low relief roof and parapet.
I am thinking of making up something like this [see photo] particularly like the short top panel which would then allow for a flat roof.
I could use your load openings and window panels to make up something close.

Hi mate,

Fantastic picture. So much going on there.

For dims, scroll up and you'll see I've taken some pictures with a rule. Currently two widths in several styles. I'll be adding roof types too.

How much do you think would be a fair price for a section?

Been meaning to photograph a local weighbridge for you to add to your range if you want to. This is an Avery 20 ton model which has the advantage of not being dated or numbered on the casting so you won't need to produce a different version for every location. It is now in a park at the former gasworks so access is easy. The cast iron track plates at each end add a bit, as does the cast surround.

This was the road entrance to the gasworks, the coal arrived by a narrow gauge tramway so I am not sure if this was for weighing coke on the way out or additional coal supplies coming in. Let me know if you want dimensions or I could draw it up.

I've never seen cast iron track plates leading up to a bridge before! Fascinating stuff.

That would be great, especially if you drew it up! :)

I've not posted too much lately as I've been busy with work and catching up, hopefully I'm not too far behind now.

Anyway I've found some time to start on my prototype of a GER signal box and that is on my workbench (dining room table) just now.

I needed canopy brackets for local GER Station Canopy that I'm doing. They really should be etched but I wanted something right away and so I thought I'd see if the laser could do anything.

Pretty close I think. Delicate, but once laminated and put into position they should be fine. I need to try Shellac? Anyone have experience of that?
