Hi all, thought I would start a new thread for this, as the building of Kirk Coach Kits seems to be totally undocumented on the web...

Now then, what am I going to do with this lot ??

I think I shall use the supplied bogie sides, but etch up some brass inner frames so that I can cut out the plastic axleboxes and spring some cast axleboxes instead...

These don't need to be super detailed as they will be serving a purpose rather than being superdetailed representations..

Watch this space..

JB,

Try not to make too good a job of these as I've got a funny feeling i'll be kicking myself when I see them finished  And try not to use too many screws as weight on these ones  :)) :)) Looking forward to seeing them come together,

Best Regards Mick

Don't worry Mick you can buy them back at some insane profit when I've built them  :))

I'm hoping I can find something a little more technologically advanced than a bunch of screws as weight given a little more notice  :)) :))

JB,
Watch out mate you don't get too high on the amount of Butanone you'll use to put this lot together, and then go and paint them brown and cream by mistake  :)) :))

Too late for that, managed to spill half a bottle of plastic weld over the floor last night, it was all going so well until that point..

Well, I think I have worked out my construction method, and it was all a little too easy really... very pleasantly surprised... Here is the Thompson 52'4" Brake 3rd.. A little fettling needed, but not bad I reckon..

 I would have thought a S7'er would have designed his own bottle holder on  CAD  ;D  ;) :))

........we've all been there, although some of us bottle  knocking over veterans still don't have one  :-[  :))

try sticking the bottle to the table with bluetack......started doing this after the 3rd bottle went flying :headbang:  :headbang: and recked 2 models (both not mine).

After my Mek went flying, I cut a bottle sized hole in an empty plastic take away container lid and the container now keeps it upright and trouble free.

Thanks for that, both very handy tips.. I'll try to remember to try them before I knock the second  half of the bottle everywhere... and leave myself without any to build with..  :headbang:
