We drove past Carrog yesterday morning, the Dee Valley really is a special part of Wales at any time of the year, even when it's raining! Corwen Exchange Station may be fiction but the essence of the line is there for all to see who know it well.

Paul, glad I did that in 2017. Hundreds of dimensions and rough sketches have come in useful so many times since. Apart from the signalbox interior kit, everything else has either arrived or been purchased locally so, without further expenditure, I can get on with the various jobs on-hold .

The one-time station at Trevor (near Llangollen) had buildings of the same architecture, but one did not carry the blue brick trim. I couldn't make my mind up whether to add the trim to the latest building and so photography has been used once again to see how things look when compressed into a photograph....

Canopy temporarily plugged into place.....

Masking tape in use as lead flashing atop the glazed canopy...

The keen eyed will spot the prop supporting the canopy while the photo was taken. The goods yard looks like a building site especially with the shed facing sideways(!)....

The Up station building is nearing completion. Wanting the booking Hall door open meant fitting a booking office frontage and painting the interior walls even though the lot will be barely seen once the canopy is in place. Thanks to the photo, I can see where the RH window frame needs touching up...

I googled "0 gauge signal box interior kit" and Springside came up with signalbox detailing kit said to be DK1. An order form was filled in and printed, envelope printed off and a cheque sent with order. After a week, what arrived? A 4mm kit! Things are so obtuse on the 'net. I don't think the firm does a 7mm kit!

Psst...Anyone in need of a 4mm signalbox interior kit?

Hi Larry,

I will buy it off you, as I will need a few for Chester. Let me have the cost and I will send you a cheque.

Cheers

I suppose “o gauge” in a search can include “oo gauge”. As I get older I begin to dislike and distrust the internet. Today my wife’s computer decided to need new passwords for no obvious reason that two 70 year olds can detect. As a result we have to come up with new passwords. Yet again.

Larry, you might consider a drive to Telford on the weekend after next. No oo gauge stuff to be seen!

Larry,

There is also the Severn Models etched signal box interior in 7 mm scale:

If I had known Peco 0 gauge points were designed for the PL-33, I'd have fitted them prior to laying the track. Not to worry; I wired a PL-33 micro-switch into a bullhead point today in readiness for a relaying job in the morning. The point will go outside the shed (activated by Mercontrol wire & tube) and will be protected from rain and sun by one of my usual translucent covers.

The current point is too close to the platform ends and makes the sighting of signals difficult. An Up train stopped at that signal would be hit by a train entering the Down loop. I have known it had to be sorted for some time, which is why this end of the layout has seen no development. A new double track bridge will have to be built too....

Larry,
Couldn't you move the starter signal onto the platform to give more clearance at the point? I'm sure I've seen photos of GWR signals located like that. Would save a lot of rework.
Dave.
