The boiler has arrived. Superb again, from Castle Instruments. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
Basically, this is a G1 project boiler, but with different regulator and blower set up ( to the G1 dee design).
Here's a couple of snaps with it roughly packed up to the correct height at the firebox end.

Next job will be to fit brackets on either side of the firebox, to sit on and be secured to, the mainframes/ dummy firebox.
Once that has been done, the frames will need to be reviewed, but I think all the work that needs doing has been done. If so, I hope they can then be properly cleaned up, sprayed, and put aside until final assembly.
On second thoughts, the smokebox internals (steam feed, blower, exhaust) should probably be done at this stage and before putting the frames aside, but it's definitely getting there.

Did you have some clever way to make such neat curves on the side tanks or did you just bend the nickel around a suitable bar?

Jon,
I used a Hold and Fold tool, similar to this-

Hold & Fold Jig 14" Gold Edition Deluxe - Eileens Emporium | 01531 828009

Although mine is not gold coloured (nor did it cost accordingly!)

I filed a suitable radius on one length of 'tongue' and with a depth stop from thin plasticard temporarily glued in position, slid the bits in to the stop, checked square, then bent up by hand.
The 'tongue' bit was screwed down enough to just hold each piece but not enough to squash the rivetting. I should probably have put some soft packing (thin card or plasticard) over the rivetted face to protect them, but got away with it.

Yours
Jamie
