Hi everyone  A few of us have discussed having a day out after our meet up at Telford, there is no "Western" connection but we have decided on the Great Central Railway at Loughborough, we had discussed going to Severn Valley but they only have a limited service between Kidderminster and Highley so a bit of a non-starter...... We have decided to meet for the 10am departure at Loughbororgh, which will have the Mk1 RB on so you will be able to get a "Full English" breakfast........... The loco's running will be K4 61994, 3F "Jinty" 47306 and 30777 "Sir Lamiel"
Trains will be running every 45mins from 10am... If anyone fancies it we will see you there.........
Definates so far are; Myself (Ross), Lancer (Rob) and Phill Dyson

Thanks CME. only 2 more sleeps to go.... Should be a good day Phill and Rob (lancer) are still going and an old friend from work coming too.. Looking forward to my brekkie, Rob is hoping to get some roof detail pics so he can finish his RMB.. Been looking into their proposed extension its very interesting there is only 500metres and a couple of bridges and an embankment to put in to join GCR and GCR (Nottingham) together the appeal is called "bridging the gap" put it in the search engine its very interesting, both lines if joined up would be approx 18miles....
Ross............

After watching the series on Sky, I would love to of come and join in the fun but I'm afraid it's a bit to far to travel at the moment  :'(. But it is certainly on my must visit list, maybe in the spring would be good.

Hope you have a good day out chaps - it sounds like it ought to be fun.  I might have been tempted to join you, but I'm running short of annual leave, so I've ended up on a ballast turn at Challow today!

Regards

Dan

A brilliant day out was had by all, took a while to for the coaches to warm up as it was soooooo cold sunday but the breakfast in the Griddle Car was great...  Think me and Rob have become RMB geeks as we were looking at all the bits of detail inside, think Rob got some good shots of the roof too   Ross.....

Mmmm pictures, well both Phill and myself where standing on the bridge at Rothley camera's poised for roof shots of the kitchen car on the train we had just got off. The train set off but we couldnt take any pics because of the amount of smoke the loco had left . We could'nt see a thing :)) :)) dissappointing but very funny. However we stayed on the bridge for a few more minutes for the passing train which had an RMB on pics were took then we legged it to catch that train. My pics were all of details so not much really unless you need a certain bit of info  Oh the " full english" was SUPERB
Oh there might be a dodgey pic posted on here soon of two strange looking characters talking RMB's :-[ yes me and Ross

Martyn et al,

How good was the Sky series?  I believe my father was one of the talking heads (short, beard, probably doing the caption voice over from 'Dad's Army' "he's dead; he's dead; he was such a lovely chap; he's dead", etc, etc....).  I'd just like to know if he ended up on the cutting room floor!

I bet the only bit of film they used of Dad's was the bit of me in my pushchair...!  :shit:

Tee hee...

Steph
