GWR Armstrong

Well, to kick off with the requests to post pictures, here is my latest build. Although I have posted it on other forums, I feel this will now be my forum of choice!!

It is for one of those delightful MOK kits for a GWR Armstrong. Progress is very advanced now, so really I shall only be posting it in it's later stages as it nears completion.

Lovely indeed,

Do you know what radius it will go round with the bogie wheels and framing tucked inside the valance?

Nice to see you on WT.

Hello Richard!

Glad to be on board!

It's going to be tight to be honest. My test track has a reverse curve with a centre line of 6ft radius. So slightly tighter one way than the other. It's had a push through, but not a proper run, so time will tell. But there should be just enough room!!! The De Glehn had a very similar tolerance!!!

Best regards

Andrew

Had to fettle mine to get round a 6' radius with a heavy super elevation. The bogies frame just marginally catches on the inside of the loco frame and tips up the bogie.

A truly outstanding kit by Dave at MOK that deserves all the praise possible for producing such an outstanding loco. My usual cr@p photos I am afraid though!! I did take some down the workshop but it won't let me upload them! And now for something completely different........a cup of tea!!! :D:)):D:))

I am green (Mid Brunswick of course!) with envy!! In my opinion they are a more elegant engine than the singles. Stunning work. Regards Robert
