Hello

Alex W

Western Thunderer
My name is Alex. I have been building model railways for nearly 50 years, and am on RM Web as "wiggoforgold" (A username created at the time of the Beijing olympics!).
I model in 4mm OO gauge, and my intersts are 1950's/60's ex Great Eastern Steam and Diesel. and WR Steam. I'm from East Anglia, hence the GE interest, and now live in Cornwall, which has developed the interest in WR steam.
I've got two projects on the go, my home layout "Diddington", with it's portable extension "Upwell Drove", and I'm just starting out on a new model of Yelverton in Devon circa 1959.
I'm planning to set up a layout thread and workbench thread soon.

Welcome along Alex. Perhaps your interests can be persuaded to also cover the better Cornish network, the ex LSWR lines. Go on, you know it makes sense! :D

Bonjour Alex.

Welcome aboard and how very nice to see you here.

Looking forward to a few photos of your delightful J70 's in due course........and I join the Pencarrow type in recommending all things South Western......but looking forward to seeing Yelverton taking shape.

Thank you for the welcome. Pics of J70's (and others) will follow in a week or so as the railway is currently folded away while a new fitted cupboard is put in the railway room.
South Western steam...well I do like the engines and the Callington Branch is rather interesting. I have an idea for a Cornish layout called "Saltash Waterside", but it's GW...
