The next kit to hit the work bench is an NBR/LNER Gas Tank wagon.
Some time ago I built both a twin tank and a triple tanks in 4mm (I found some photos so I thought that I would share them) and had a discussion on the LNER forum which led to the belief that the colour was either all black or blue chassis and black tanks.
What is puzzling me now, is that the late George Dawson in his instructions (it's his kit from his Majestic Models range albeit this particular kit is from the Dragon Celtic Connection range) states that the NBR painted them a mid chocolate brown and the LNER painted them teak brown as in NPCS down to include the solebars with black below like much other LNER stock.
Has anyone got any ideas as to which might be correct?
