Hello. This is a totally new scale for me, coming from old, cheap and cheerful Minitrix and Lima N Gauge.
Of all modern(ish) locos, I do really like the hydraulics, with probably the D8XX as a favourite. I have a Minitrix version from yesteryear so I've got a soft spot for it. This is closely followed by the 22 and 35.
I'm planning a shunting layout plus joining a club to run longer trains once in a while, but I've got a while to go on either of those as I don't have much to run at the moment. Below (hopefully) is a picture of my total stock to date. I plan to update the Blue Flyer with one of the kits available and I really need to sort those coaches out. I either want to swap the BSK with a suburban comp or swap both suburbans for normal MK1s. If anyone has a solution to this, I'm all ears.
Still to come will be the loco and stock for my proposed shunting layout plus adding a coach or two to my train, which will be pulled by the detailed 35 (I'm not entirely sure the 35 worked suburbans though...).
Anyway, I'll continue to dip in and out of here to get inspiration and pick up tips. I'm totally in awe of the garden layouts here but it's not really on the cards before retirement and/or The Lady of the Manor relaxes her attitude to all things railway...
