With the wiring now completed, I did manage a small running session over the whole Layout yesterday, I forgot to take any pics, but here is a short Video of some bits, and can be found on my You Tube Channel = Andy Peters Model Railways, New Mills No 1.

Thanks for all the likes, Not sure if it's my Layout / Period I model / Layout style / or other reason but this thread on this forum seems very slow.

I was pre warned it would be slower than I'm used to on here, but still very enjoyable.

Anyway, a couple of pictures of yesterdays developments of Platform 1, no explanation is needed. Except to say that the PVA is still showing as it is wet.

Today I decided to add 6 inches to the main width curving out from the Station area, this will give more room for Scenics around the two Sidings and also I have the centre section at a lower level for a nice embankment along the frontage.IMG_8560.JPG

Hi - yes it will be slower we are a much smaller group here - but we like to see people making "stuff". People are interested in what you are doing you can see the thread has had plenty of views but many of us prefer to be at the workbench rather than the keyboard.

I like to think of it as having a much higher signal to noise ratio compared to some other fora - nothing against that it's just a slightly different ethos and so there won't be a lot of "me too" posts but there will be interest in details.

For example your back scene, the details, colouring and perspective is very impressive. So are the paintings on the wall above the layout also your work?

Well as your about to see, I haven't updated for a while, but it's almost finished apart from now doing the smaller details like detailing around the Duck Pond, painting the Platform Seats, correctly fitting the AWS Boxes etc.
Here's some current pics.

Brilliant layout New Mills is turning out to be.
Love the low down shots as I said over on RMweb the pond does need a few iris or reeds though.
Me, I hope you do turn it into a roundy roundy!
Maybe with the branch cutting back under the main line with a nice skew bridge! Branch then on front of baseboard mainline high above lots more photo opportunities there!
What ever Andy is rather good and I know you have more details to add yet.
Cheers

Thanks Ade, Yes loads more small details to add, including all around the Duck Pond, but not to over crowd it and spoil the reflections.

I've been working on my O Gauge Seven Mills Sidings again yesterday, and last week fitted the Sound Chip to the Class 40. Details of that build, including some short Videos are on RMW.

I will update with more pics on here again soon, but here is one for today.IMG_8923.JPG

Very nice Andy, I think you know that I've also viewed your layouts on another forum and they ain't bad ;););)

At one time I was toying with the idea of Scrapping Pen y bryn and starting again in O as there's finer detail to be had in that gauge.

On another subject, and this is not nit picking, just constructive, your last picture has a strange effect, very dusty looking, I know you've Photoshopped it the same with a couple of other pictures, somethings not quite right, if I can help with PS please let me know.

Why is it that when I posted I could see your pictures and now I can't, just IMG_12345.JPG etc?

That's interesting, Phil, because althouh I've had no previous problems I opened Tim Watson's latest two postings and a few of the pictures had the IMG description and no photo. However, following some earlier advice (sorry I can't remember who) I hovered over the "IMG" and hit Fn and F5 together and the relevant picture appeared.

There's something funny going on, though, as I've historically had none of these problems. I'm using Google Chrome.

Brian

Edit - I've just gone back to Tim's posts to finish reading them and found that early entries, even as early as the first page of his thread are showing the same characteristic. At this stage I don't know whether this is strictly limited to Tim's postings or if I'll find the problem to be more general. I'll report if it happens again. Not insurmountable, though, using the Fn/F5.

Just tried the hovering, it doesn't work, also other threads are the same but not on all the pictures?
BTW, I'm using Google, not chrome.

Hi Phil C. Yes it is a little dusty as you say, it was done in Microsoft Office Picture Manager, as that is the only program I have that will allow me to convert images to Black and White.
Is this any better?

Can't tell Andy as I only get the IMG_ info...something wrong somewhere?

Also, if I try to copy the IMG_ I can't as it won't turn blue the same as the text above it?

Did you upload the picture on the forum or from IMGbb etc?
