Phil,

I think open spaces look great on big layouts. Ideal for just watching trains go by. Smaller detail cameos can add some interest to a big expanse. How about a p/way gang with trolley/tools etc. doing some engineering works gang on that long point? In real life it would have taken some serious maintenance! Is there a story behind why the switch is so long?

And wow, fabulous view out of your window! ...But I would suggest you need a suitable backscene to avoid the distraction.

Must admit I was wondering about that myself. In best "Oo-er Mrs" tradition  , I don't think I've ever seen one as long as that before.... (insert own gag here... )

Colin, the long point...(Jordan) no point in it:) Just a crazy moment twenty years ago  As for the backscene, it would cut down on the light but here's a Photoshop'd one for pictures.

I told you I was hooked

Again just for fun. We all try to make our layouts as near to real as possible, hence sound etc, and we all wonder what they would look like with the real stuff coming out of the chimneys, well, this is just another step just for the owner

Before and after shots.

Ooops! The whole point is too long, it was made about twenty years ago, and I should have known better...too much red that night me thinks! It will be corrected though.
