photo puzzle eight - a definite PW oddity!

How to start this "puzzle"?

We are passing the sidings between Fort William Junction and Tom-na-Faire depot. Some of the sidings are laid in chaired rail and some are laid with baseplates / Pandrol clips whilst others are baseplates and elastic spikes... one siding seems to be unsure about life.

Well obviously on the middle track one rail is bullhead and the other is flatbottom. Have seen that in other places in the past. Good use of renewal budget.....
