Railart 2018 - Kidderminster Railway Museum Aug 25th-Sept 30th

Good evening all, it's nearly time for Railart again.

It's being held at the Kidderminster Railway Museum on the Severn Valley Railway again and there will be lots of high quality railway paintings to enjoy and possible even buy if you have a mind.

Although Chris won't be entering anything this year we do plan to visit on the Friday afternoon before going on to Telford.

I may see you there Rob. I bought a modest watercolour from the exhibition last year and may indulge again!

From your description I had a hunch it might have been!
I had an interesting chat with the artist and came very close to buying it on the Thursday morning.
In fact I considered contacting him the following week in case it had not yet sold.

Modest it may have been, but quite delightful.

I completely agree! I too spoke with the artist on the Friday. I recall that it was his first showing at a GRA exhibition. I’ll take a photo and post it later so that others will know what we’re talking about!

Hi Dave,

You absolutely made Derek's day when you bought it, he was really thrilled not only to have had pictures accepted at his first submission but then to sell one was the icing on the cake. As a new member who lives quite close to Kidderminster he had rather unselfishly offered to do a few days each week stewarding the exhibition too which was a great help to our exhibitions manager (who lives in York).

I do hope that we meet up, I have seen you in passing several times at Telford over the last few years but haven't managed yet to say hello and introduce myself.

If for any reason I miss you please do pop by demo stand 10 and say hello over Guildex weekend.
