A bit of Cornish Whimsy ;D............ or if you prefer perils of trying to fit the whole gallon into a pint pot!.

Not so long ago a certain Neil of this parish thrust a part built scheme of his our way with a challenge to 'do something with it'. What in effect we got was a board a mere 2'6" long with ends 18" and 12" respectively.

So with our usual relish for taking on modelling challenges we err........... forgot about it for 6 months!......or at least until we grew tired of stubbing toes on the board ::). After which I conceived workable plan for a 'cameo' of a China Clay works and by flanking that initial baseboard with a pair of 2ft long fiddle yards we came up with this.........

A whimsical reworking of the railway history of the area North of Moorswater, but the resulting model can support (with a change of road vehicles) most periods from the end of steam to the late 1970's. Though most often we run it with early 70's pre TOP's stock.

The resulting model has proven both interesting to operate and a good conversation started with punters at shows both here and in Europe. The Dutch and French modellers were particuarly taken with it when we were over there as it was fully operational and yet smaller than a lot of the static dioramas they had on display!
