Very neat jobby mate, you would pass the part 3 exam in electrical installation with that kind of workmanship. what kind of insulation are you thinking of putting up there in the spaces between the roof trusses, surely you would be thinking of some kind of air conditioning like a big hole in the wall!!!!!!!;)

Iv'e not seen one like that in a long time.

That will be coming down as soon as I'm ready to put the insulation up. It was the only source of light up there when we moved in and is on a rubber flex too..

Thanks for the kind words Ian, I'm going to use double layered aluminium bubble foil stapled to top of rafters then screw roof lats on horizontally 18" apart then plasterboard onto that, this stuff is supposed to be good and equivalent to 50mm of foil backed kingspan..

I was thinking the same thing, your work is very neat and the whole project is very thorough - most impressive.

I think the insulation you are talking about is the same as we used in our extension roof. It is amazing stuff, the new kitchen is the one part of the house that can be got properly hot in the depths of winter!

Not long before you get to baseboards....

"got the remaining 35 of the 70 boards upstairs today too.."

Happy days :)

Ross,

You have my admiration and sympathy. This week a friend and I put up 20 full boards for the ceiling.in my railway room. Just lifting 70 boards into the roof space makes me go weak just thinking about it.

Well done.

I love that stage of a build project, when all of the surface finishes and shapes are "pulled together" by the plasterers art, a bit like when you put a model into primer for the first time I guess.

Mind you, most plasterers I have known are at least a little bit crazy, but then you'd probably need to be, especially when working in a confined roof space, with all the physicality of getting the plaster up plus the heat and moisture from the stuff going off.

Looking forward to seeing the results to this impressive build project, not to mention the trains!
