Rotating Images

After a little bit of ferreting around I think I have finally managed to sort a solution for rotated images issue and I have just rolled it out on to the forum.

So now if you add a post with images attached then you should notice an extra option at the bottom of the post called "Rotate".

If you click on this Rotate link it will then present you with another page showing the images in that post and have 3 options for each image. Rotate clockwise 90 degrees, rotate counterclockwise by 90 degrees or a 180 degree rotation. The little thumbnail will update to indicate the change, when you have made the change use the click HERE link indicated to return to the post.

So for example here I have rotated the first image by 90 degrees.

IMPORTANT NOTE please note the information about bypass the cache. When you first look at a web page it will download an image to your computer. When you go back to the post you will still see this downloaded local copy image i.e. non-rotated image and not the one you have just rotated so it will appear that nothing has changed. You need to force your web browser to reload the page including all the images. On my Mac OSX I have to hold CMD+SHIFT and reload button. Other browsers and operating systems will probably use subtly different key combinations.

Also note you should only get this option on your own posts - i.e. you won't be able to rotate images in some one else's post!

If there are any problems then please let me know.

On Windows PC's I use the F5 key to refresh the page, not sure if it refreshes cache though but it certainly reloads the web page.

Good tweak

Edit, just tried it, F5 does not cleanse cache, but CTRL + F5 does, rotated a couple of images and back again and CTRL + F5 worked a treat.
