S7 Group, Spring meeting at Albury 21st April.

Tim Humphreys ex Mudhen

Western Thunderer
Here are some details for this year's meeting. Whilst it is an S7 meeting all are welcome to attend in order to see what we are up too. Apart from the railway modelling on display it's a great social occaision and gives us the opportunity catch up with friends, old and new. A good number of those who post on Western Thunder will be in attendance so a good chance to talk over some of the posts that particularly interest you.

Please feel free to bring along any railway items you think will be of interest whether complete or under construction.

The meeting will feature layouts from Ian Norman and Ian Roll whilst Michael Druiett of the MRC will be bringing the initial boards for Bow Junction, as featured in the last S7 Newsletter and on this forum. We will also have part of Steve Baldock’s embryonic model of Bath green Park mpd in order to demonstrate his skills with sound and steam all enhanced by computer control. I'm sure many of you have seen this on Western Thunder. The station board from Love Lane will be on show together with Peter Insole who will talk you through progress and techniques used in its construction and painting. David Rayner will be demonstrating track building with his range of excellent 3d printed track components. Phil Healey-Pearce of Intentio will be showing his range of buildings and will be pleased, I’m sure, to take orders. Last but no least we will have a fast recovering Peter Hunt of Perfect Miniatures with his great range of new and used stock, kits, track, tools, accessories, books and witty conversation.

The address is;

Albury Village Hall
The Bourne
Albury
Herts
SG112JD

Albury is situated a short distance from the Little Hadham junction on A120 between the A10 and M11.

The meeting will be open from 10.00 to 16.00 with an entrance fee of £5.00 which will include tea, coffee, squash and biscuits throughout the day. More substantial food will be available for purchase.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask,

All the best
Tim

Best Beloved and I will be heading to the meeting. Looking forward to it, and Best Beloved is particularly looking forward to seeing the Bow Road stuff. He's been quite enthused about it and been doing all kinds of research to find out more about the lines and layout of the area. He was born not far from the location.

John, I think we were going to share a ride with you, weren't we? Give us a ring if you want to. I'm happy to drive.

" Now then Luvvy Boys, look sharp make sure your there good and ready. :D
I saw Windsor Davies when I was younger, he was doing a show in the Felixstowe Spa Pavilion and staying at a local caravan site who's pool our primary (and other local) school used, one girl drowned and he jumped in and pulled her out, saved her life. Thoroughly decent chap really.

I'd forgotten all about that until you posted the picture, hate getting old, wonder what else I've forgotten

Regret I cannot attend as I am being treated to a trip on the Great Britain 11 tour. I think we will be enroute from Edinburgh to Inverness behind Union of South Africa and a B1 that day!

Ian.

Good afternoon Tim.

My good lady and I will be on an away weekend and intend to drop in for a few hours, looking forward to meeting old friends and making some new ones also. That said Tim is there a need to be placing a lunch order for the local 'pasty salad'? ;)
