JB,

Yep, good pic.  I'm still learning about still photography.  :))

Nice job on that tank wagon too - I think I probably need about 20 for a train...  ::)

Just wondering, what livery will it be finished in?

Nice Tank Wagon JB, I was eyeing one of these up at our local model shop but it wasn't one of the ones they had on sale.

Among others they had a GWR 6wheel siphon for ?49 and a 6 wheel GWR coach (not sure which diagram) for ?49. I picked up a MR/LMS fruit van and had I not been going to Keighley at the weekend  I could have got carried away with a few others that had been reduced. Some of them have faded boxes so they are obviously old stock but that won't harm the kits inside.

Steph, you want 20??!!

It took a good 20 hours to make that I reckon... hope you have lots of spare time on your hands!!

Its worth keeping an eye out on eBay Rob.. I recently got three brand new unopened Slaters wagon kits for ?60..

I was needless to say pretty chuffed...! I missed out on the tank wagon by ?1 on eBay, so bought one from my club leader instead..

I presume from this you took the photo of the Volvo? Nice one and congratulations, I can see now why your S7 photo's have a good eye for composition.

Was this a one off or are you in the trade for motoring photography? If so do you have any dealings with Ferrari? - It's a long story but there is a family connection with Jason Harris from the Ferrari press office.

Hi Adrian, yes, some might call it my job, though few recognise it as a 'job' as such haha. I have met Jason Harris definitely once if not twice, first time on a Cover shoot for TopGear magazine oooh about 4 years ago whilst I was doing my assisting stint, though I've not had the pleasure of meeting him again just yet, eventhough I shot the California recently, and soon to be shooting the 458 Italia on the IOM. No speed limits  ;)

In other news, I seem to have won the etches for another K2 on eBay.. Now I know how people manage to rack up piles of kits...!! This one will definitely be No. 1734. The only LNER green K2 based at Stratford. I guess it's an expensive way of recreating a scene from the August-September 1993 Modelers Backtrack magazine showing L1 No. 9000 (already on the workbench) and K2 No. 1734 in the snow outside Stratford shed in 1947. Should look good though!!

have won the etches for another K2 on eBay

You'll have your work cut out there  ....was that the one minus  rods valve gear and tender?  Mind you having built one before you'll know your way about the thing, :)

Hi John, yes, that's the puppy..  :)

It shouldn't be too difficult a task, set of rods from premier components, and a scratchbuilt GN tender wont be too hard.. Famous last words ?!

It's starting to become a layout now..!!

Hopefully we'll have some full videos of trains running on and off scene shortly.. Watch this space..!

I like the second one  can you stream a live signal to a computer? It would make driving much more fun

Its a possibilty, but i need to find some smaller cameras.. which is why I had to run wrong road in the video. I was using my iPhone stuck with double sided tape to a machining 'V' block on the back of a GW Hydra wagon. It worked surprisingly well, though it hit the bridge a couple of times, much to Peters dismay !!  :))

But it shows well the length of the layout now.. should be great when we have controllers plumbed into the workshop, and running trains backwards and forwards. I shall be producing a longer video with Peters Video camera soon which i'll edit down and post up on YT.

All S7'ers welcome of course.. To be honest, all are welcome I'm sure, just that the 32mm modelers might be picking their engines from 'between' the rails.. :)

Just moving in with the missus, and set up the new workbench already,

Hoping to get a lot more use out of it, as nothing much has happened of late..

I'm desperate to get a lot more of the L1 done very soon....!  :headbang: :headbang:

Just looked at the videos. Very nice. I do like the sound effects . I am assuming you are on DCC. What system are you using?.  I was going to say I'm not an LNER fan but I think I have made 15 LNER locos of various types including several GCR ones.

Sorry, but that is just showing off..... :vista: :headbang:

Seriously, that is just awesome modelling, and moving standards up to a whole new level
JLTRT kits suddenly look a little basic, now... :)) :)) :))

Hi Graham, the DCC system that we use on the layout is the Gaugemaster Prodigy set, but the chip in the K2 is a Zimo MX690v which does have some great sound. I'm hoping to get the module soon so that I can put my own sounds on from recordings that have been digitised, looking forward to that!

I'm surprised you hadn't seen that video before Jordan, its been on YT for a little while now  :))

I'm looking forward to getting back onto the L1 which will have working valve gear as on the K2, but it will also have a working screw reverse in the cab too running off the DCC chip.

Anytime soon I hope..!
