Signalman's Privilages

Just by way of passing, you understand - not gloating at all, but I have been playing with 'Western Courier' over the last couple of days.  Didn't get on the footplate though.

I would just add that it is red!

No photo's I'm afraid, but if I remember I'll take a camera to Corfe tomorrow and get it as it leaves.

The loco's are here until next Tuesday - so any requests while I have access to them?

Phil

Class 33 & Western Cab & Bulkhead pics would be useful Phill ..........LSWR signals would be useful to me as well..............seeing as Withercombe has none at the moment (well you did ask  ;D :)) )

Cheers Phill

OK Phil

33/331 no problem - they 'live' here and I've done a good few miles in the cabs - I even managed to bend one quite successfully!  As to the Western I'll need to be in the right place at exactly the right time, so don't hold your breath.

We don't do LSW signalling I'm afraid, it's basically BR/upper quadrant here.  There are a couple of LSW lattice posts around - any good?

That blue one is nice.

Oh dear! Why do I think I'm fighting a losing battle here ....

Yes Simon we have two blue ones (33103 & 33111) but only one (D6515) which is in the correct green livery.

Phil

PS We have several steam engines as well.  Big green ones - although the M7 is black, at the moment.

Un-rebuilt Bullied B of B Class 34070 Manston was duty engine today - which is suitably big and certainly green enough.

I'm duty signalman at Corfe Castle in the morning. I'll take the camera and see what I can get, it'll be a big Bullied anyway as there ain't nothing else available at the moment.

Did anyone see the 'cavalcade' of these diesels en-route from the Severn Valley Railway to the Swanage Railway the other day?

No worries about the Western Phil  :D , but the class 33 cab/bulkhead shots would be very useful

The signals on the Ilfracombe branch (which Withercombe is loosely based ) seemed to be a mainly lattice although there were some rail built & wooden posts too, so anything would be of interest really . TBH signalling is something I know very little about, but I will have to get to grips with it for Withercombe

Black is good and proper for a steam loco, with the correct lining - which the M7 has, of course.

Had, Simon, had!

At present it is in Southern 'Sunshine' livery.  Here's a very oblique view I took yesterday.
