Just to make you feel really old, 1975 was 3 years before I came into existence ;) :D

My grandparents used to live in Weymouth and they took me down to see the boat trains a few times, must have been sometime between 1988 and 1992-ish - thoroughly enjoyable, and I still like to see video and pictures of it to this day.

Hi Phill, i like the photo  . 1975.....mmmmm i was 9 and always wanted to go to Laira or Plymouth station or Exeter but dad said it was tooooo far and would cost toooo much  so we ended up going to all sorts of places which if i remember correctly Weymouth was one. ( and for my little brain, Weymouth / Exeter not that much difference in distance :headbang:  ) but seeing it was his driving, car, petrol etc i really didnt have a leg to stand on.
Oh happy days.....

I was only 11, we used to go to Newquay on holiday too , so me & my brother used to catch a Western back to Plymouth & a bus to Laira to cop all the Westerns     .........there didn't seem much point in going after the summer of 76 :( , Exeter & Reading were favourite spotting places for me too..........much more interesting than my native Yorkshire

Great pics Phill  At least you had a camera :headbang: i (according to my dad) wasnt old enough for a camera. He also thought i didnt know how to use one properly so he would'nt let me use his to take pics.Of course i would have only took pics of WESTERNS and not what my dad took 50,47,46,45 etc and not many westerns :headbang:  I still give him grief about it but i think it falls on deaf ears.
