image.jpeg The Regent tank train has grown to 10 wagons, I want to double it to 20 plus a brake van, should be a nice train for Gaer Junction behind 92220.
Both sides of the fascia on Severn tunnel east are now resplendent in gloss black. I will leave it to harden over the weekend and start track laying track early next week

Nice tank car rake .

At that period would there be barrier wagons or had these disappeared by then or was it just operational whether they were there or not?

I like the Coney Island Beach poster in the background.

This is heavy oil so I don't think the barrier was nessesary. If it was petrol then one would be required. It will be set around 1960/ 64
I do have a picture of 92220 on this train which I shall dig out

Hi Steve,

great picture - been looking for one like this for ages. Now to find one heading to/from Fawley with one of the SR Famous Five on the front.

cheers

Now I'm certain I can help you there, I shall have a look. It's one with multiple lamp brackets and I think they did have barrier vehicles

Hi Steve,

numbers 92205/06/11/31 & 39. I have books with photos of 9Fs on oil trains, but none showing these locos doing the business. Yes they were fitted with SR lamp brackets on the front end - there is a great photo of 92239 in the Irwell Press 'Book of the 9F'

cheers

Yes the top picture was in my phone I'm not sure of the location, where as the second was a link to the picture of the 9F on the Fawley oil train,
I posted the top as it was a close up showing all the lamp brackets

View attachment 53893 View attachment 53894 Making grass for Severn tunnel east, it's a bit of a pain working on a piece of teddy bear fur 8' X 4' but it does keep it consistent

That all sounds very interesting, especially as I have a roll of teddy bear fur to convert to grass for landscaping. Any advice and pictures of your techniques would be most welcome. More of a loco builder than a Capability Brown, so need all the help I can get.
