I'll be trying to get to Cardiff Rob, usually I manage to miss it as we book a weekend away to visit daughter and family in Hampshire about the same time. I shall try and plan better!

That’s more bovine than ovine! Nice to see an ‘Eastleigh’ Maunsell Arthur. Knowing zilch about 4mm, whose model is it?

Thanks all.

It's from our dear friends at Hornby, Paul.
I think their rendition of the King Arthur is one of their finest offerings to date and probably my favourite loco. In fact all their ex L&SWR models are exceptional and they make it very easy for a Welshman with a penchant for things South Western to indulge himself.

This particular example is the only one to date with the watercart tender and it's off to pastures new once I have finished the weathering. My current interests revolve around smaller layouts and I have no need for such a large engine. It's wasted sat in a box so I have offered it to a chum with a large main line layout.

Very nice sheen you've achieved in the paintwork. Just the sort of thing Mr Sweet should have on his layout.

Thanks Chris. 'Tis a spot of car polish worked in 4mm hand size circles with a cotton bud to produce said sheen.

Hear, hear!

And that final shot has overtones of ‘Hursley’ by Mr. Welch.

Thanks Jonte. I will take any comparision of my efforts with those of Mr Welch, however tenuous.

Oh......and this evening I have resumed modelling for the first time in a month with some DAS carving on Bleat Wharf.....

Evening all.

Further carving of DAS this evening, of which I attach a few images.

This is very much a work in progress and these are done in a very free lance fashion.

They will be painted but for now they simply have had a bit of weathering powder rubbed in.

Looks good - what tools do you use for the carving? I tried using some short lengths of guitar wire in a pin vice on some depron foam but I found it difficult to make the lines I wanted to.

Morning Adrian,

Here is the weapon of choice. I find it gives a fine line in the DAS which really lends itself to carving.
It's all a bit irregular but that's how I like it.
