I was telling the wife about your saga Jordan and she reminded me we had a similar situation in reverse last week.
Chris (my wife) has bought me a kit for an upcoming birthday and had asked the supplier to deliver on Friday when I would be in the office (I work from home at least one day a week but not usually on a Friday). Lo and behold it turned up last Thursday and while she got to the door/postman first, I had looked out of the window and seen the large loco shaped box. She had kept telling me she was still deliberating (I gave a her a list of locos and suppliers to choose from so it would be a surprise but one that I wanted) and was most miffed that I had seen that she had indeed placed an order. To make matters worse we had been up to the cottage in Saltburn overnight on Friday returning Saturday PM and I got to the front door first to find a card saying we had missed a parcel which apparently contains another bit of the birthday present. So while I still don't know what it is (other than it has brass castings and six big wheels - if she is to be believed of course, and I have been led well and truly up the garden path with such things in the past  all good naturedly I must add, she likes me to have a guess at what it might be building up the anticipation for the day) I know it is in hand.
