7mm Watery Lane

Well we had a bit of a session today, I ran some returned engines and some of MTH's stock. After repairing 7 droppers that had come UN soldered during the winter and cleaning the rails it started to spit with rain, so I ran the 31 and the 25 and they ran faultlessly. During the day however it became apparent that something was not right with certain pieces of line one the inner loop, for some in explainable reason we have a 5ft curve on the layout found when Mats 40 kept on derailing I don't know where that came from and a point with a dead spot on the outer loop found when a 3 car DMU was sent round and it stopped and then when it's inertia carried it a couple of mm further it sprung into life again. Hi Ian

Some great rolling stock. I too like the blue/grey DMU and the bubble car.:D

The 25 looks nicely weathered:thumbs:

Well after the last running session I decided that it was time to have a look at putting a few things right, like the tight corner a 5ft radius curve had somehow happened and it needed to be eased. so it eased.
photo(15).JPG
You can see how much the inner curve had to be eased by looking at the line on the right.
photo(17).JPG
Not only was it eased on the 4 track section I took the opportunity to ease the curve from the point as well all 6ft now.

All done except the inner siding that's for tomorrow

I meant to add the curves are formation widened due to overhanging stock by about 1/2 an inch and the track does not look that rough in reality
