Hardly relevant to trains but I do like seeing snow pictures:)

Here are a few of my snaps from this morning, anyone else taken any?

    Winter wonderland at Wenbridge:

A4 looking West towards Bath, you'd normally be severely flattened if you tried to take a picture from here!

And looking East from the same viewpoint:

A a view of the shop, good to see that the drugs are going to get through!

Open all day, now there's a thought...

Right, I'd better stop playing, pack the orders and stock check the NG&IRs:oops:

No pics but it's deep and crisp an even here. The Larkhall Inn looks inviting, hot food and open fire?

Funnily enough no, its an old fashioned "not painted for 30 years Courage Best and pork scratchings" kinda place, big flat screen for watching the Footie and Gee Gees and a short walk from the betting shop.

Landlady of great character not given to huge amounts of smiley chat.

Well kept beer though and lots of dark corners where embittered old booksellers can count meagre takings with fingerless gloves whilst muttering over their half of mild and bitter:))

Just been chatting to a guy who'd walked in from Corsham so I've got naff all work done:rolleyes:

That reminds me of how J. Kite described Pouteau in the London shop.... although Pouteau had a bowl of something which shall not be described here.

I have not ventured out but turned the heating on in my shed and nearly finished my SR Lo Mach.

Ok had a trip outside to light the boiler and bring some more wood in for the cooker. This time the camera kept me company.

Fortunately, since our loft was done out, all my trains are no longer up that big shed there, just Schiller Point...

UNfortunately, it's where I have to do my painting, and I'm halfway through a respray of a loco body for a friend, which ideally he'd like back for the Glasgow Show in Feb.... can't see it happening, at this rate....

Anyway, any self-respecting Modeller should be tucked up in his den playing trains on a day like this....:)

Fat chance.... Schools closed, so I've taken my lad & his mate sledging in the park..... :D

Got up at 3:30 this morning hardly a dusting went to work, it's good working on the trains as you can see the weather changing up and down the country. We left Wolves a light dusting got to Coventry approx 1 inch, Milton NOTHING!!!!!!!, London wet. The return Journey Milton NOTHING, Rugby 1 inch then Brum 2 inches. Back to London, Coventry a white out 10 min delays, Milton a dusting, London a dusting, Return Chaos theory the saying if it's going to go wrong it's going to go wrong in front of me, A voyager's fire bottles had been set off by an ice ball services diverted via Northampton, Coventry you couldn't see the staff dispatching you back to light drills (use of lamps) , looking at the permanent way the snow was 1 inch under the top rail height, delays as the snow got packed in door mech's arrived at New st 20 late, left and ground to a halt at Galton Junction a train with doors problems n the platform at Galton Bridge, it moved 10 mins later, arrived at Wolves 30 mins late.

Jumped in the car and took 1 hour and 20 mins to travel 12 miles BUMMER

Not much round here yet, shame, I do like the snow, being half Viking and all that.

Not as pretty as hoped around the outskirts of Northampton, but enough snow to create utter chaos on the roads yesterday meaning the traditional 'snow on garden railway' photo had to wait until this morning so I could see the garden in daylight. As usual, the neighborhood cats have been in for a tour / walk around but they haven't displaced too much snow.

I really, really, really must do a snow plow one of these days...

We seem to be getting off lightly for now, but much more to follow from what I hear:eek: ...........I wonder if you can plot the route of the Withercombe branch on the first pic?:)

In spite of the weather though the garage where the terminus is, will be getting a proper power supply today at long last........roll on summer :D

That would be the coolest option :) However, there was a really for every year that I've said 'I must build a snowplough' so I suspect an easier approach may be selected on the grounds that it stands a better chance of being completed.
Right, I'm getting back to putting a spray booth in the kitchen/diner
