Wencombe /Kingsbridge Regis/Louville Lane

As stated in my New Members thread my 00 gauge layout Wencombe is based on an imaginary line from Churston via a viaduct over the R. Dart to Kingsbridge with passing stations at Dartmouth and Wencombe, with a branch from Wencombe to Slapton (upgraded during WWII for practice D-Day landings at Slapton). The line is built to the same restrictions as the Kingswear Branch, and I am assuming as Dartmouth now has a rail connection there was no need to build the line on to Kingswear. This will allow me to use a timetable based on the Kingswear line.

I have been building the layout for some 3 years + and is nearing some sort of completion. I can run the layout as late steam, steam/diesel or early diesel.

The layout is 11ft 6inches by 8ft.

I have attached a track plan (which by the way was based on CJ Freezers Yarlington Junction) and route map as well as a pic of the last bit of work which was weathering a modified Hall and a a Collett goods.

I apologise to those who have read all this ona couple of other forums.

No apology necessary Alan.  Wencombe is a cracking little layout and I, for one, am very pleased to see it here.  :)

I have to admit that it's the first time that I have seen the layout and it looks pretty impressive

You've only taken three years to get that far..??
I suddenly feel that viewing my own modelling progress as somewhat snail-like was being rather optimistic... :shit:

No apology necessary; whatever other Forums this layout has been on (no idea myself?!?) it is now finally on the right Forum..!! Superb stuff!

Hi Alan,
Wencombe like a lot of other layouts posted elsewhere came to be lost amongst the  $%&@## !!
As you can see you have a new audience here who are Western fans and appreciate what you have created.

Perhaps you can post some photos of your Baby Warship and milk tanks, as the chaps here rather like them  ;)

As others have pointed out the scenics are really good and I especially like the country lane scene.

As requested by Geoff some pix of the arrival of the milk train hauled by a "baby Warship" and tailed by a collett K40 full brake.

The Baby Warship is a Silver Fox kit, the milk tanks are weathered Hornby (ex-Lima) and the full Brake is Comet sides on a Hornby B-set Body

The dairy is a cut down Walthers Red Wing Flour Mill kit, literally cut in half heightwise. It was a four storey building, now only two. Various bits added on thanks to Knightwing (Pipework) and Unit Models (extractor fans)

I love the pic of the North British rounding the curve with milk tanks  8) & like the dairy too,  a clever bit of kit bashing IMO

I thought I recognised it, but couldn't quite work out where from...!!

It does look good, much like the one at Moreton-in-the-Marsh IIRC..?? 8)

I'm not sure what the attraction of milk tanks is either... I mean, judging by the state of them, would you drink the contents..?!? :shit:

I don't no whether it's joining this forum but I have spent more time in the model room this last week than I have for the last couple of months or so.

Today did some gardening. The cottages have needed gardens for the last couple of years and due to my indolence nothing has been done until today, and lo and behold 2hrs later I have 4 reasonablish small gardens. unfortunately it's almost impossible to take a photo of them without using flash, so I'll put up the best that I could, also one of the road side of the cottages and one of original warship Bulldog (a Silver Fox Kit).

I cann't at the moment remamber the maker of the cottages Something like D&G mouldings but I'm not sure.

Seeing a requset for more pictures I thought I add a few with Hydraulics in. The running board in the pic with the Warship was done by me on a programme called Coraldraw, still not sure how to put text between pictures.
