Hi all

I picked up the railway bug about twenty years ago (gulp!), and I've wandered through '00' and 'N' in my time. About five years ago I stumbled into '0'-Gauge, and I've been building brass and plastic kits ever since.
I don't have my own layout, but with the local railway club fairly close that's not a problem for me. And who has room for an '0'-Gauge layout in the house anyway!?
I was recommended to join here by IanG, and have to say that so far things are looking good . . .

Thanks Phil

And I think it may take me a while to wander through some of these threads. Fascinating stuff, and I seem to recognise some of the 'handles', too.
I'm going to enjoy this!

Thanks, one and all!

Pressures, pressures. . . . . If it's not one thing, it's another.
And Jordan, thanks for the links - I'll have a look as soon as I can. Madhouse, indeed - my place is in an uproar ATM because SWMBO wanted a genuine second bedroom to be available, and has now thrown out the perfectly good 4ft desk that I was looking at for a micro-layout. <sigh>.
Garden layouts? Now there's a thought. . . Is 'garden' the place where the drought keeps pouring down out of the sky??? :)) And aren't gardens supposed to be looked at through a closed double-glazed window????

Finally, what do I model? Well, WR Hydraulics are wonderful to look at and all (the old 'admire, aspire, aquire' is very true here), and I'm working my way up to some of these.
But very slowly, and via the works of Judith Edge - It seems I have a pash for small diesel locos. BR Black is such a wonderful shade that I'm wondering if I'm a secret Goth !!!
(Oh, and before someone twits on me, 'yes', it true. . . I've had steam deviation for a while now, I've been building a Martin Finney LSWR M7 as a contribution to the club layout. But I've recently bought a BR Class 08 as recompense  )

Ian,

Welcome to the forum.

That's a good selction of kits and I've enjoyed building a Judith Edge loco, as an introduction to the scale they can't really be surpassed. The M7 is a beauty too (I've got a couple of 7mm ones in my 'to do' pile and built a 4mm one ten+ years ago).
